Mi experiecia con Xlstat

Puntos a favor:

Además de ser muy fácil de usar es muy versátil y sobre todo me permite realizar análisis estadístico multivariado con métodos avanzados como análisis de matrices de datos en el tiempo, espacio u ocasiones, como el método Statis, Análisis Factorial Múltiple y diversos métodos de segmentación. La entrada de datos y los resultados se ingresan y se obtienen dentro de las hoja de Excel y es ahí su facilidad de interacción con el usuario.

Contras:

Debería incluir otros métodos de análisis estadistico multivariado como métodos Tucker en todas sus versiones.

Exploring the data with XLSTAT

Comentarios: Very satisfactory, the results according to the methodology, explanation of each of the methodologies on the Web and other aids, very fast response and flexibility when contracting a license.

Puntos a favor:

Versatility of data analysis, essential in basic research

Contras:

Although it is a very good and useful tool in data analysis, the cost is very high if you want the premium license, mainly in countries where research is very little recognized.

On the go statistic application

Comentarios: On the go statistic application for Excel type of data. It make this app easier and simpler to run analysis data. The features also quite complete. There is also special price for the student.

Puntos a favor:

Easy to use since this application is added on Excel.

Contras:

I need to re-activate this app when I not use it for couple of days. It is anoying.

XLSTAT works well for Windows, but not Macs

Comentarios: I thought this software was a great idea, and it works really well on a Windows machine. I tried it several times (several versions) on a Mac, and was always disappointed. The support staff acknowledges that the performance on a Mac is less than on a PC

Puntos a favor:

It is easy (and powerful) to interface this package with Excel on a Windows machine, but it's disappointingly slow (and crashes) on a Mac.

Contras:

This software doesn't work well on a Mac.

Comentarios: Overall, it covers the essential sensory tools and methodologies used by Sensory Science these days such as TCATA, Temporal and Time Intensity. Still fiddling on these features.

Puntos a favor:

Tutorials and the statistical rationale behind the step. Technically sound.

Contras:

Window commands and prompt messages. It takes a while to understand the lingo.

Prices need to be lowered.

Statistical software powerful and user friendly

Comentarios: Xlstat is exactly the statistical software I need. Namely - but not only- for multivariate analysis

I am sure I am not using the full potential of the vew features related to R and the assistance.

Comentarios: With XLSTAT I can analyze my data without too much headache, it's the most accessible statistical software I've ever used.

Puntos a favor:

It's easy to understand and the fact that the data is already on the Excel sheet is just handy. No need for complicated formulas to get your results.

Contras:

I find the subscription price a bit expensive.

Go to statistical software package for years

Comentarios: Most of my work is in conventional statistical analysis and sensometrics. XLSTAT helps me to get the most out of my client's data with peace of mind that the analyses are done properly and that the conclusions are reliable.

Puntos a favor:

XLSTAT is easy to use (provided you have good theoretical know-how) and compatible with Excel which makes reporting a dream. It's compatible with R as well for additional functionality, although XLSTAT's functionality, especially in sensometrics is already very good.

Contras:

Not all of the tests are set up to handle multiple variables at once leading to a lot of manual labor. However, this is the exception and not the rule.

Comentarios: Very satisfied with the experience and will recommend the software to both new and experienced analysts.

Puntos a favor:

Using the excel environment for data analyses and visualisation is a winner; creates a short learning curve for any new analyst. The video tutorials are topnotch and user is able to learn the statistics and its application easily and quickly. Overall functionality and user friendliness are excellent .

Contras:

Artificial Intelligence functionality can be built in to improve functionality.

Comentarios: Quite a large range: social sciences data, engineering data, medical data ..
It can be used in all fields ...

Puntos a favor:

Quite a large number of techniques implemented. We can even say Exhaustive. No prior training required for technicals. Very fast for non-technicals to get used to it as well.

Contras:

No missing feature in my brief period of use: trial version. Price on the high side.

Useful and Essential tools for Market Research professionals

Comentarios: I always had a great experience with XLSTAT even when I don't know how to do something, it's really intuitive, with patience and determination, we always find the solution !

Puntos a favor:

I like the way it presents the results and the fact that I can rework each graph to make it more eye-catching. It's really easy to work on data even if we have to practice a bit to master it! It's so much easier than a R software or a pyhton and the info we get is really valuable to understand and get conclusions about a survey. We can almost do everything!

Contras:

Sometimes it takes me a little while to figure out how to organize the data to get what I want, maybe we could have video tutorials when we buy the license with training exercises around linear regression, penalties , ANOVA, ACP/AFC. Fortunately, you can find videos on the internet but sometimes I need something really specific, it could be great to have more personalized help too. I don't know maybe include a training session with a professional once a year when buying the license (or put it as an option that we could add?)

Powerhouse of Data analysis

Comentarios: I am totally in for the Xlstat. This made my data analysis experience very smooth. It is easy to use and gives high performance. Thank you XLSTAT team for making my research journey smoother.

Puntos a favor:

Xlstat is a very user-friendly software for data analysis. There is no code needed for performing tasks which makes the software easy to use in the comparison of R and SPSS. Being a researcher in climate vulnerability assessment, have to deal with volumes of regional data to analyse. Xlstat just made my life easier. I will strongly recommend the Xlstat.

Contras:

While performing the determinant analysis, there should be an option to select the percentage of training data. This is not cons of the product but will improve the performance of the analysis.

Superb Customer Support

Comentarios: My research entails the exploration of the data generated by test subjects making high-speed visual judgements. As it has moved through upgrades I have taken benefit of the additional functionality added into the software by the XLSTAT team. Occasionally I have messed up the upgrade or spotted a problem and the support team have been just that - they have provided excellent support and with my ability to get things wrong that has been invaluable.

Puntos a favor:

XLSTAT has a range of depth of functionality even in its Basic version which is outstanding and the fact that it sits happily on top of EXCEL makes it a winner as far as I am concerned. Statistics has always been lurking in my academic and professional background but just using and experimenting with XLSTAT features on my data sets has allowed me to explore a range of possibilities that would have sent me nuts if using SPSS. An exceptional piece of software and a brilliant learning and research tool.

Contras:

Nothing - it has enhanced my research no end.

Lifesaver!!

Xlsat has allowed me to analyze and predict data beyond any scope I have before. I thought I would not understand statistics but this software helped me become an A student!

Contras:

I’m still learning new things everyday that the software can do, it would be cool if there were links or small explanations as to what “regression”actually is for example.

Sensory Evaluation in XLSTAT

Comentarios: Our group is responsible for a large number of sensory tests. XLSTAT makes it easy to turn these studies around quickly with the tables and charts it produces.

Puntos a favor:

XLSTAT makes multivariate analysis a snap. I have been a SAS user since 1982 and use it for some analysis where I need the detailed diagnostics. However, I try to utilize statistics packages that are easier to use when possible which makes it much simpler to instruct more junior scientists how to perform advanced analysis and XLSTAT is really good for this. I make it a practice to check any new statistical package against SAS results and XLSTAT passes with flying colors.

Contras:

The only problem I have encountered with XLSTAT is having EXCEL crash n occasion, though this may have more to do with how our IT department has configured our computers.

XL'S XLSTAT Experience

Comentarios: I'm a geoscientist who deals with tremendous geochemical data. Previously, I completed a task by using multiple softwares, and unfortunately some cannot be done. XLSTAT is a trustworthy helper.

Puntos a favor:

As a computational geoscientist and a user of the BASIC version, I found XLSTAT easy to use. The data preparation, description, analysis, visualization, and non-parametric test etc. are very useful features. They helped a lot about geoscientific data processing.

Contras:

If possible, could consider adding the part for compositional data analysis (CoDA) to the BASIC version. A little suggestion.

XLSTAT The Data analysis Friendly Add in!!!

Comentarios: Having to manually do certain tasks. With XLSTAT the computer does the job so easily. So far the experience has been awesome!!

Puntos a favor:

The fact that it allows me to customize my excel functions. It allows me to add add-ins that make data handling very much easier. For example i have managed to put in an add in that allows me to merge given excel files without having to individually copy and paste. Once i have my add in added to the xlstat folder i can just click and achieve my stack in one go. Then also i have managed to include another add in that is very useful for classification of my data after i have run my analysis. Simply by just copying the addin into the XLSTAT folder.

Contras:

So far it has not disappointed me. I wish to see more of its usefulness

Impressive software with friendly interface and accurate results

Comentarios: Very good experience for many years, use it on a daily basis.

Puntos a favor:

I run all the analysis with XLStat and always compared with SAS and R: XLStat is very accurate and reliable for researchers.

Contras:

Crashes with too many data. Huge datasets like omics data may require to go to R or SAS.

Great tool for basic business analytics

Comentarios: The software has allowed me to do some really useful analysis for my company while also helping me to visualize my findings for important meetings. I like the software and would recommend it if you don't code and want a relatively simple and inexpensive Excel-based solution.

Puntos a favor:

I appreciate having access to a number of basic and advanced analytical methods for business analytics. If you don't code, having an easy-to-use Excel-based tool allows you to both analyze and interpret your data.

Contras:

It can be temperamental. If not used in a very particular sequence, the software can freeze and either need to be restarted or unlocked by pressing the F5 key. The software is also limited by high-dimensional data. Running a regression with more than a set number of variables may not be possible.
